Uncertainty

I have all symptoms of this disease although my thyroid is under-active. I have been on levothyroxine for several years now and the dose remains constant. I had cataract surgery on one eye and the other a year later. My vision improved greatly. This past year I have been experiencing severe dry eyes to the point that I have to wipe them open to remove the sand.

My symptoms

I have pain behind my eyes often. I get bouts of double vision and blurring, which restricts me from driving. A vision test showed my vision has decreased. My ophthalmologist gave me eye drops. They did not help. In my area, there are no TED doctors to consult with. Would an endocrinologist be better able to help me? I am very concerned. My brother was blind before his death in 2000.
