I am brand new here. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Visual Snow Syndrome. During my appointment with my neuro ophthalmologist, she also noted that my eyes seemed more wide open and ordered some tests.
My Thyroperoxidase Ab came back at 40 which is well above the (less than or equal to) 8 which is normal. I was sent to an endocrinologist and a lid specialist and at the time the conclusion was wait and see because I wasn't having any symptoms. Recently I had a cold for 2 weeks and have been under a lot of stress and working a lot of hours and suddenly I've noticed a lot of pain and pressure behind my left eye. And my eye just hurts. During my cold I also had a very bad stye in that eye in the upper eyelid which has now gone away.
I live in Minnesota and I need to make an appointment with a TED specialist ASAP for follow up as I think from everything I've read that I am maybe entering an active stage. I am 55 and female. Is anyone else in Minnesota and have a doctor they really think highly of? I'm going to call the U of M TED clinic tomorrow to get something scheduled, but also thought I'd check in here. I'm trying not to go down a rabbit hole of despair. The VSS is a lot already and I was hoping when this was added on 2 years ago as a wait and see, it would just disappear. It seems like it's showing up now and I want to get the best care as quickly as possible. It hurts when I move my eyes around and I have even more headaches. Ibuprofen doesn't seem to help. So any advice to ease symptoms is also welcomed. Thank you in advance.
