My story I have been going to so many doctors and told I have dry eyes been sent miles away from home to see a eye specialist and my driver lost control of the truck and I got hurt not him for the doctor to tell me if I got worse to come back to see him the accident was worse than the eye condition I don’t trust the only person that I can get to take me out of town to the eye doctor I just gave up and I read the symptoms of thyroid eye disease and now I think i know what is wrong with me and why can’t the doctors tell me what is wrong with me and treat me for it and not send me out of town when I am not able to travel to start with and they know it also just trying to get me killed to get rid of me I think if you ask me that is how I feel anyway

  1. thank you for feeling comfortable to share your story with us. My heart goes out to you; you have had such a tough experience. Would you be able to share a little more about the doctors you have seen? I can only assume if one doctor is sending you elsewhere, it was to see a specialist. Sadly to see specialists, you may be forced to go to different areas as not all hospitals or offices have someone. Personally, I’ve had to drive across state lines to see certain specialists to get second (third, and forth) options for my own health issues. Definitely not ideal at all, especially if you aren’t able to transport yourself. But I’m sharing my personal experiences to help you see that it isn’t anything personal towards you, although I can understand your frustrations. When you’re not feeling well and add in all the other things, it becomes so much to handle. Sometimes it can feel as if it’s too much and can really weigh ya down.
Below I’m going to link a few articles, written by our health leaders, that I hope you may find helpful. They will speak to symptoms of Thyroid Eye Disease & how to get a diagnosis. Please read through and let me know what questions you have. Hopefully we can find a way to get you the support you need!

    1. I've had the same experience with finding a doctor in my state. By some miracle I've found a specialist nearby. He is from Will's Eye in PA. I've had Tepezza but not a great outcome. I now am faced with the daunting choice of orbital radiation or steroid infusions . I have really bad swelling around my eyes.I never know from day to day how blurry my vision will be or if I'll have double vision.

      1. , I am so glad you have found a good eye doctor in your area! That's wonderful!

However, I am sorry you are now facing a daunting decision in regards to your next treatment. I know decisions like that are not easy. Whichever route you choose, I hope it works for you and that you feel at peace with the decision!
