Hi,
I’ve had grave disease since 2017 and had my thyroid removed with radiation. Last July I started seeing double vision and I ignored it thinking it was my new sunglasses that I had my new scripts put in and I thought the script we’re too strong. Then September is when the double vision was getting worse so I went to see my eye doctor and he did testing and then an MRI which the MRI showed no tumor it showed that I had inflammation in my fat muscles of my eyes, which is thyroid eye disease. He put me on two weeks for the steroids and it helped with the inflammation and prescribed me a new prescription of glasses and put a prism on one of the lenses and every week I had to keep going back for new stronger prisms for two months because the prism was not working my eyes kept changing and I was still seeing double vision, then he referred me to ophthalmologist at UCLA in Los Angeles and they did all the testing and he felt that I did not need to tepezza, that I would just have to keep coming back every three months to see if my alignment was moving, and let me tell you it has been a nightmare with this double vision. It’s hard for me to drive, yeah I could drive with one eye closed, but very dangerous. So I ordered some translucent film on Amazon and I put it on one on of my lenses of my script glasses and that’s how my life has been with the past seven months. I have my appointment at UCLA the end of May to see if my eyes have moved with the alignment. If not, then I can have the Strabismus surgery. I don’t know why the prisms will not work with my eyes. All my labs with my Endo Doctor are perfect! How are you living with double vision. I also see my right eye kind of turning inward too, but I don’t have the bulging but I do feel the inflammation and I do use refresh eye drops. Should I use some gel drops at night as well? Thank you for your input.
