Graves Disease & TED What a Shock!

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2008, with swelling on the upper right eye lid. Soon after I developed double vision. I had to wear a eye patch for over a year because I was still in the active stage.

In 2009 I had eye muscle surgery on one eye and in 2010 on the second eye. The muscles were pulling my eyes in different directions. Then in 2011, I got cancer in my thyroid and had it removed completely.

Changes to my everyday: What a shock

I'm on hormone therapy medication for the rest of my life, not to mention eye drops, regular ones like Refresh (just to mention one). I have tried them all.

Restatsis and Miebo which I am on at the moment which really helps with the dry eye situation. I do use Refresh in-between the Miebo drops. My doctor wants me to try Tepezza. She says she thinks I would be a good candidate, but the side effects are brutal, especially the possibility of losing my hearing. I have decided not to try the Teppezza because I don't think I could bare not hearing ever again at 74 yrs. old.

I miss the old me, the old eyes. But I guess I should be grateful, as so many people have told me, but they have no idea what all of us have to go through from day to day.
